MyLAWDOC
was
founded by a group of health conscious individuals to promote
the legal interests of health advocates. This multidisciplinary
approach to the networking of health care providers, physicians,
and
patients was conceptualized by:
Leslie
Tar, M.D., J.D., M.P.H., a Board Certified
Allergist and Rheumatologist and Attorney at Law,
who trained at the Hospital of the University
of Pennsylvania and Temple University Hospital, before completing
his Juris Doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh
School
of Law. Dr. Tar completed the Health Law Certificate Program
during his law school training. He concurrently completed
the requirements for an M.P.H. in Occupational Medicine at
the School of Public Health of the University of
Pittsburgh.
His strong position in consumer health advocacy is supported
by his legal interests. He is also a staunch supporter
of
physician rights and represents physicians in hospital-staff
conflicts as well as other associated areas of physician
interest.
Karen
Howell CRNP, APRN, BC, MSN, JD, a
Board Certified Geriatrics Nurse Practitioner and
Attorney at Law, who was trained
at
the University of Pennsylvania
as a nurse practitioner, before completing her Juris Doctorate
at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Karen
also
received Health Law Certification before completing her law
school training. She is a senior citizens advocate,
working
to improve the health, welfare, and legal interests of her
patients.
MyLAWDOC
is supported by several individuals that are
behind the scenes, including Target
Information Services who provides technical support and
a growing host of sponsors which make the financial support
of this web site possible.
