Geriatric Nurse Practitioner & Attorney at Law

Karen Howell, CRNP, APRN, BC, CS, MSN - Geriatric Nurse Practitioner & Attorney at LawKaren Howell CRNP, APRN, BC, MSN is a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and an Attorney at Law. She trained at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Master's of Science in Nursing as a Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner. During her training, she became a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing. Karen has obtained board certification in Gerontology from the American Nurse's Association.

Every State Board of Nursing grants advanced nurses credentials through their certification process. These credentials may go by different titles in different states. The State of Pennsylvania grants Nurse Practitioners licensure as Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Karen has been licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) and has been actively practicing as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania since 1987. Karen's clinical focus is in the care of the geriatric individual, with specific emphasis on rheumatic disorders.

Additionally, Karen attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she obtained her juris doctorate and was awarded Health Law Certification. She has been licensed to practice law in the State of
Florida and Washington, D.C. and her clinical legal interests lie in the area of Elder Law. She is an advocate for older individuals in areas of elder abuse/neglect and nursing home abuse.
